Brouwerij Alvinne

Brewery Alvinne was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organisation by Glenn Castelein and Davy Spiessens. In 2010, Marc De Keukeleire joined the team and brought with him an important innovation: Morpheus yeast, a unique yeast strain that has been used to brew all Alvinne beers ever since.

The first creation, Alvinne Blond, was soon followed by a Blond Extra, a Brown beer and a Tripel. In the early years, Alvinne functioned as a pint-sized brewery: only four hectolitres were produced per brew. As a result, their beers were only available in specialist cafés or directly from the brewery.

After a short stay in Ingelmunster, the brewery moved to Heule in 2007, and in 2011 Alvinne found its permanent home in an old industrial building in Moen, along the Kortrijk-Bossuit canal. With the installation of a modern 20hL brewing system in July 2011, a new chapter began.

Alvinne specialized in craft beer and quickly gained fame as a pioneer in the field of wood maturation. The brewery has an impressive collection of wooden barrels, foeders, and even a giant foeder of 60 hectoliters. It is no coincidence that this image is also incorporated in their logo.

The name "Alvinne" refers to old myths and stories from Middle Dutch literature, Irish folklore and the fairy tales of Grimm. "Alvins" were mysterious, beautiful creatures - sometimes elves, sometimes seductive spirits - who, according to legend, roamed Flemish marshes and castles, including that of Ingelmunster. This mystique continues to inspire brewers to this day, both in their brewing recipes and in the creative soul of the brewery.

Alvinne combines mythology, craftsmanship and innovation in every glass – an invitation to wonder for those who dare to taste.
