St. Bernardus Kombine 2025 is a full-bodied, unfiltered blond beer of 6% alc., with a refined hoppy aroma. This beer marks a first for St. Bernardus: for the first time, the brewery is venturing into a lager beer – a style of bottom fermentation that is completely new within their tradition.

It doesn’t stop there. Unlike their other beers, Kombine does not referment in the bottle, which makes it even more unique within their range. As if that wasn’t challenging enough, they also decided to brew this beer according to the German Reinheitsgebot*. To do this, they worked together with Weihenstephan, used their lager yeast and combined their own hops with those of their German colleagues.

The name “Kombine” was deliberately chosen and carries a wink: an unfiltered Helles is in itself a style break – an apparent contradiction that perfectly reflects the philosophy of St. Bernardus. Their beers are deeply rooted in tradition and craftsmanship, but at the same time they like to push the boundaries to surprise the adventurous beer lover.

*The Reinheitsgebot is the German beer purity law from 1516, which only allows water, barley, hops and later yeast as ingredients.
