The 3 Fonteinen Grape/Kriek in this specific blend combines Belgian Dornfelder grape lambic and cherry lambic in an equal ratio of 50/50. To create this lambic, both young and two-year-old lambic were used, coming from nine different barrels and as many different brews. This contributes to the complexity and depth of the beer.

The maceration of the fruit lasted no less than eight months, during which both the sour cherries and the freshly squeezed grape juice with the skins were added to the lambic. This long-term maceration ensures that the fruity flavors can deeply integrate with the lambic, resulting in an intense fruity character.

The fruit intensity in this blend is remarkably high: per liter of finished lambic, the beer contains 510 grams of fruit, a combination of both sour cherries and Dornfelder grape juice. The result is a particularly rich and layered beer, in which the characteristic sourness of the cherries combines perfectly with the dark, fruity notes of the Dornfelder grapes, all supported by the traditional lambic.
