Brouwerij de Landtsheer

Balthazar De Landtsheer, born in Baasrode in 1773, founded the Brewery "De Halve Maan" around 1798. Later his son Edward took over the company. Balthazar De Landtsheer's grandson, Emmanuel, married the brewer's daughter Marie-Anne Sarens in 1839 and moved to Buggenhout.

Emmanuel started a brewery in Buggenhout called "'t Meuleke" and later "Brouwerij De Zon". After his death in 1879, Emmanuel was succeeded by his son Charles, and later by his grandson, also named Emmanuel.

Emmanuel De Landtsheer switched from brewing to beer trading during the Second World War. His son, Adolf, succeeded him.

In 1997, the brewing tradition was restored by Manu De Landtsheer, son of Adolf, and the name was changed to Brouwerij Malheur.

In 2015, Guillaume De Landtsheer, son of Manu, joined the brewery.
