Palm is a refined Belgian Spéciale Belge Ale that originated in the early 20th century, a period when Belgian brewers wanted to create their own unique beer style in response to the rise of foreign beers. What emerged was an amber-coloured ale that combines elegance, accessibility and character — and Palm is a textbook example of this.
This top-fermented beer is distinguished by its striking amber colour and a modest alcohol percentage of 5.2%, making it ideal for broad enjoyment. The core of Palm lies in the use of carefully selected amber malts, which are roasted according to a malting process developed in-house. Through natural caramelisation, the beer obtains its soft, honey-like flavour with fine caramel tones. These malts give Palm its characteristic roundness and warm colour.
The proprietary Palm yeast contributes to the lively, fruity esters that appear in the aroma and give the beer a fresh and inviting character. On top of that, aromatic hops from Kent provide a subtle floral note and a pleasant bitterness that balances the whole thing out nicely.
