Brouwerij Bosteels
Bosteels Brewery was founded in 1791 by Jean-Baptist Bosteels in Buggenhout and has been owned by the Bosteels family for seven generations. Brouwerij Bosteels never stopped brewing, not even during the world wars. In the 1980s, Ivo Bosteels brought Pauwel Kwak's iconic beer onto the market.
In 1990, son Antoine saw the incredible potential for strong beers and created the Tripel Karmeliet and the DeuS Brut des Flandres.
On September 8, 2016, it was announced that the brewery will be acquired by AB InBev. Antoine Bosteels remains chairman of the Board of Directors and will also remain operationally involved. The brewing activities will remain located in Buggenhout.
