San Miguel
San Miguel originated in 1890 in Manila, in a neighborhood that then bore that name. Over the years, this becomes the most sold beer in Southeast Asia.
From 1946 the brewer tries to gain a foothold in Spain and in 1953 a brewery is opened in Lerida.
In 1957, however, the parent company decides to divest this brewery and from that moment on, the two companies each go their own way. San Miguel was born as an independent Spanish beer brand and in the same year San Miguel Especial, a lager, was created.
In 2000, the San Miguel brand becomes part of the brewer Mahou-San Miguel, the largest beer brewer in Spain.
