Brouwerij de Koningshoeven
At the end of the 19th century, a small group of Trappist monks fled from France to Berkel-Enschot and found shelter in the former country residence of King Willem II – de Koningshoeven. They founded their monastery there and decided to brew beer.
The La Trappe Trappist is still produced within the walls of the abbey under the supervision and responsibility of the monks and still based on the inner conviction of 'doing good': part of the proceeds go to charities.
These original principles earn La Trappe Trappist the exclusive label "Authentic Trappist Product" from the International Trappist Association.
