Brouwerij Eylenbosch
Eylenbosch Brewery was founded in 1886 by Emile Eylenbosch in Schepdaal. The brewery was one of the most important producers of lambic and gueuze, with an absolute highlight at the world expo of 1958.
In 1989, the brewery was taken over by competitor De Keersmaeker from Kobbegem, which was partly owned by Alken-Maes from Waarloos.
The lambic beers lost more and more popularity, so that production was halted in 1991 and the buildings were only used as a warehouse.
In 2004 the installation was dismantled and the brewery became empty.
In 2018, Erik De Keersmaeker, fifth generation of a brewing family, decided to focus on his passion again after a number of other challenges.
He brings the Eylenbosch brewery and its iconic beer back to life. He does this together with the young brewer engineer Klaas Vanderpoorten and fellow student Jeroen Lettens.
