Brouwerij Corsendonk

The history of Corsendonk goes back to 1398. The Priory of Corsendonk was associated with an important brewery and malt house. In 1784, by order of Emperor Koster Joseph II of Austria and also as a result of the French Revolution, the monastery and the brewery were closed.

In 1906, the Oud-Turnhout brewing tradition was continued by Antonius Keersmaekers and the famous Patersbier was brewed in his brewery.

From 1982, the Corsendonk beer again gained great fame. From then on, the beers were brewed in a craft brewery in the Belgian Ardennes and recognized as an abbey beer by the Trappists.
