The Cam Kriek is an expressive, artisanal kriek from our favorite brewery, De Oude Cam. For this cuvée, a whopping 1,000 kilos of carefully selected sour cherries are added to 1,500 liters of traditional lambic—a generous dose of fruit that creates depth, intensity, and a natural balance between acidity and fruit.

After the fruit is added, the lambic is given ample time to develop. For one year, the beer matures and ferments spontaneously, without the addition of commercial yeasts, entirely in accordance with Pajottenland tradition. Fermentation takes place in centuries-old Pilsner Urquell oak barrels, which contribute their own subtle character and micro-oxidation to the final result. These foeders, steeped in history, give the kriek added complexity, structure, and finesse.

The result is a pure, unfiltered, and unpasteurized kriek with a deep ruby-red color, vibrant acidity, and a layered aroma of ripe cherries, almond notes, and a subtle woody influence. Elegant, intense and completely faithful to spontaneous tradition: a textbook example of how craftsmanship, time and terroir come together in the glass.

To best bring out the aroma of this beer, we recommend using a corresponding glass.
