Like the blonde variant, this beer has matured for 12 months in various barrels from Brouwerij Het Anker, but the result here is noticeably darker, tighter, and better balanced.

In contrast to the sweeter and slightly more pronounced “boozy” blonde version, PX Posé Donker BA presents itself as more controlled and elegant. The beer enters as a dark, almost wine-like acid beer with striking complexity. The influence of red wine barrels is clearly present and lends the whole a firm, fruity acidity with notes of dark cherry, ripe berries, and slightly oxidative wine nuances.

Beneath this lies a solid base of roasted malts that provides depth and structure. This malt layer brings flavors of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and lightly burnt caramel, which contrast beautifully with the acidic, wine-like profile. The result is not a straightforward dark beer, but rather a field of tension between sour, bitter, roasted, and fruity.
