3 Fonteinen Speling van het Lot VIII.III 17/18 is a special version within the experimental "Trick of Fate" series. This edition features the maceration of Schaarbeek cherries in charred and toasted barrels. The Schaerbeek cherries, hand-picked by more than 50 families from gardens around Brussels, were macerated together with organic raspberries from Ferme Framboos for 266 days (over 8.5 months) in a fresh medium-toasted French oak barrel of 1,000 liters.< /p>

After this long maceration, the fruit lambic was mixed with young lambic for further fermentation in the bottle. The total fruit intensity of this blend is 278 grams of fruit per liter of fruit lambic in the bottle. This creates a unique taste experience in which the roasted barrel notes and the complex fruit flavors come together. As always at 3 Fonteinen, this lambic is 100% natural and unfiltered, brewed without additives.

The "Trick of Fate" series consists of small-scale experiments with brews, barrel aging, fruit macerations and blends, each of which gives a unique twist to traditional lambic.
