Brasserie Abbaye Des Rocs
In the picturesque Hainaut village of Montignies-sur-Roc, a sub-municipality of Honnelles, a unique brewery with a great love for craftsmanship and authenticity was founded in 1979: Abbaye des Rocs. The brewery was founded by Jean-Pierre Eloir and his wife Marie-Jeanne Bertiau, true pioneers in their time. With their initiative, they made history as the very first microbrewery in Belgium.
Today, the family business is continued by their daughter Nathalie Eloir and her partner Georges Levecq, who continue and refine the heritage with the same dedication.
What sets Abbaye des Rocs apart is its connection with its environment. The beer is brewed with pure water from the rocky subsoil on which the brewery is built — a natural ingredient that contributes to the unique taste and quality of their beers.
The name and logo of the brewery refer to the historical past of the location. Inspired by the old monastery farm that once stood in Montignies-sur-Roc, the religious and artisanal character of the region remains vividly present in every glass.
Abbaye des Rocs symbolises a tradition of craftsmanship, family values and respect for the land — a brewery where history and flavour meet.
